Powerflex Wichbone Bushes

HI guys i have fitted my bushes to the wishbones and have recently been advised to weld these in which i have nodone but cen the metal rings which get pushed in wear through the brackets on the subframe if so can the other side also bcut away at the rubber bush, and if so should i file them shorter so the rubber bung pushes on the wishbone frame rather than the metal ring and should i leave them shorter on the other side so there is a few mill of ruber petruding from the end of the metal ring to be sure they wont rub away at the subframe ?
