I've got some 4.1 speakers there quit old now as i've had the them about 3 years roughly, anyway there set up on my PC as i've got not speakers built in on my monitor screen, i can hear a slight noise off them even though there's no sound going through them, it's like a wind blowing noise best i can describe it also it's quit low noise and it's quit constant. It's just been happening past couple of days. The volume isnt high either. Are they starting to go do you think?

It difficult to say m8. As for 3-years-old, that's still a young 'un in terms of sound! As it doesn't advance anywhere near the rate of visual effects, good speaker equipment is robust enough for years. I currently have my Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 connected to both my PC and the 360 - and that speaker setup is from 2000 - lol.

What make and model of speaker setup have you got? Are they located near anything with a strong magnetic/electrical field? Like a mains adapter, printer, UPS, etc?

Are they situated where they have always been? Or has there been anything new introduced nearby since you last used them?

Have the connectors been shoved fully home - both on the PC and the speakers?

Can the speakers connect to your PS3/ And if so, is the noise still there when using the PlayStation?
