problem with heater on valver

Not sure if this is a newish problem or my car has been like this all along lol.

but ne way i got my mrk1 valver in summer a therefore didnt require to use the blowers on hot. then my cambelt snapped and my car was off the road for a few months. durring this time my gf managed to steal my raincatcher vent out of the bonnet for her modded 1.4rt.

ne way when i got my car back on the road i found the heaters were not working properly.
when i turn the blowers up then all i can get is cold air no matter how warm the engine is. but if i turn the blowers almost off i can get a small amount of warm air out.

then also if i leave the car running just on idle it will blow warm air in with the blowers on.

is this a common problem with valver in which some thing is broken or cud this be due to the fact i have taken the vent out.

any help or info wud be greatfully appreaciated.

it will more than likely be a blocked heater matrix mate, its VERY common on these cars and a t**t to change apparently

Not easy - the whole dash has to come forward!

oh great lol why cant it just be easy for once lol. is this more than likely the problem then before i take the dash out????
