problems to look out for

i am going to look at a couple of mk172s on friday, both with arond 20k on the clock. are there any problems that should be looked out for?

Yeah make sure you can find a good dealer to get it serviced at first!!

Other than that not much goes wrong, only problems I have had have been caused by the dealers.

i will be buying it privately cos all the 1s at dealers are a bit pricy for me

Considering its under warranty id just go for the the one with an owner who looks as if he/she hasnt ragged it.

i got mine with 20k on it and have done 11k in the last 6 months. in that time the centre section of the exhaust went (well known 4k rattle caused by knackered baffles), new rear damper, new rear wheel bearing and it now has a knocking noise when floored. renault did everything apart from the zorst under warranty with no problems as it has a full dealer service history.

great fun car with a few little problems which all cars get, just luck of the draw, im well pleased with mine.
