prolines/sportlines advice

  b/g 182, meg tourer
im running apex springs atm and im sick of a really harsh ride, its so bumpy and it doesn't feel good for the car.
im looking at getting a set of prolines or sportlines. any advice on which i should get? are the sportlines a harsh ride? i have heard prolines for go, sportlines for show.
i would appreciate advice from people who run either of the springs and if you could post up some pics of your 1*2 with pro/sportlines so i can see the difference in ride height that would be great. cheers :)

sportlines if you want the best of both worlds as they lower the car 25-30mm ish and have a very good ride

thanks for that pic. think my mind is made up now. going for the sportlines, they are just that little bit lower and still seem to handle well and have a smooth ride.
cheers guys

i had prolines and they were quite hard, but great for cornering.

sportlines a bigger drop and look even better.

Think I'm one of the few people thats had both. Sportlines look good, but pro's handle better. Ride is better, and deals better with broken tarmac at speed. I'd go for the pro's every time.

i just think the prolines sit too high. from what i have heard people with sportlines are very happy with them, and i think they will be a damn sight better than my apex.

thats cool mate,im over the moon with my pro's it looks just a tiny bit lower than std, the kinda thing you have to look twice to see , which i like

and the handling is alot better, so much more composed over uneaven ground and high speed corners too

Yeah I know what your saying, I wish I had just saved and bought some Better Coilie's as mine have been hassle :(

Live and Learn, Oh did you speak to your friend?? Bought some OZ F1's which could do with a Refurb and White could look good on my Arctic as Track Wheels :D

I just fitted a set of Prolines to my 182 last week. It is a FF with Cup packs, the new springs have dropped the car slightly, noticeable to me but doesn't look too low. I have driven around 300 miles around the Cotswolds this weekend and can back up that the handling is now even better with much flatter cornering.
The ride is more jarring over pot holes and bad road surfaces though. The ride below 40mph is a little unsettled. I love 'em because I have bought the car for cross country runs. If I was mainly using the car in town, I wouldn't change to be honest as you will not feel the benefit often enough.

I fitted Prolines to my cup a few months ago and would never change them for anything else apart from coilys handling is improved no end with almost no body roll,

While on the subject does anyone have any pics of a Cup on either Sportlines or Prolines? I'm on the verge of odering a set but still not sure which to go for. I've read countless threads regarding Cups and how some people think they wont lower and possibly raise it and how some people think they are great, i need to see some pics.

made my mind up on sportlines for my 1.2 having snapped a standard coil last nite on a huge pot hole, where is the best place to get them for the right money?

seen some on potn.co.uk for £125.99 plus delivery, is this good?

Mine on Sportlines. Front is about 25m lower than standard and back about 15mm lower than standard apparently.

Handling is WAY better than standard and ride is pretty much the same.

Quite an aggressive stance on sportlines :)

I'lll try and get some pictures of my Cup on Prolines up this weekend - in answer to your question, Prolines do lower. I was surprised how much as I had heard different stories too.

yup they do lower slightly,as my pics showed, but the sport lines do lower more,iv driven a mates 172 cup on sportlines and it was very nice but i found them a lil stiff at slower speeds,(imo) which is why i decided on pro's as the handling is spot on now, and looks nicer too :)

Here we go; this is my 182 FF with Cup packs now fitted with Prolines. Not exactly Apex low but much more 'planted' on the road.
