Prospective Owner 200 Cup

Hi all. I thought that I'd join up now that I'm getting serious about buying a 200 Cup. I have a company Volvo V60 T8, but no other cars or bikes at the moment.

I've been thinking what to get as a second car, mainly to get back into doing some track days. It also needs to be useable on-road, be able to be left on the drive and suitable for a tall person.

I've been offered a FF 200 Cup through a friend, who knows the car well and I had a quick look over it last week. The 200 Cup seems to fit my requirements - small, not too heavy, na engine, great chassis, still practical / useable.

Bodywork is good, just the front bumper has been repaired / sprayed at some point. 78 k miles (IIRC), runs well, poly engine mounts, full system (with cat, bit noisy but not stupidly), belt and pulley done, gearbox rebuilt, front subframe replaced, Yellow Speed suspension, recent pads / discs, refurbed wheels and wheel spacers (not convinced I'd keep these). It seems like I could just buy this and book a track day immediately, which fits the bill.

Next up is to get it on a ramp for a proper look underneath and to drive it myself. I had a brief ride-along and it was surprisingly not-horrible over bumps. I don't see any reason why I won't like it.

Anything else obvious to check over before buying?

Yes, timing belt and pulley.

I see that the swivel joints make a clunk if worn - is that on-off power or cornering?

Supposed to have been done, but it's going on a ramp before I buy as well.

I'm 6'4" but more leg than body. The seat adjustment was fine pushed back and down - pedals OK and room above my head to fit a helmet (which I'll take along for the return visit to make sure).

I'll be collecting it in a few weeks.
Congrats, come meet the loonies.

Congrats, come meet the loonies.
Looks fun, but also clashes with a work trip to Italy.
