Prospeed...

How "quiet" can they make an exhaust?

I currently have a cat-back powerflow exhaust but its a bit too boomy and fairly loud for my liking.

Ideally, I want the exhaust as quiet as possible.

Can this be done? I know some people will say yea just stick a bigger back box on... but will this quieten it down considerably?

I also have a de-cat on btw!

If I already have a cat-back s/s exhaust would prospeed simply replace the middle and back box for their own or would they have to fit the whole lot again including the piping?

Anyhelp would be appreciated.

Powerflow make em as quiet or as loud as you want . They let me listen to a few back boxes before i picked the sound i like .They usually get a little bit louder after a few weeks anyway .

I know I took mine back and the powerflow guy fobbed me off with it's because you have a de-cat on. I appreciate the noise will be louder and boomier with a de-cat on but surely it could be quieter than what it is at the moment.

Mine's been on months so it's at it's loudest if it even gets louder after a few weeks. He seemed to say it wouldn't get any louder than it already is.

So if having a custom exhaust is it possible to have it as quiet as you like or not?

  cock mobile.
I'm sure there's been a discussion about this before, and some people made some very good points about loudness and performance not being mutually exclusive.

Of course you can get a quieter system, but you may sacrafice performance for it.

ive got a magnex on mine at the moment mate and i think i know how you feel.....

its so bad the mrs wont get in the car and im considering a bulk buy of earplugs!

loud might sound good for 5 minutes or so - but for a long drive it kills your ears.

Exactly mate. I may rip mine out and spend some money on a new one once the throttle bodies are on, which will make my car even louder lol
