Hello can somebody explain protected no claims to me.
As far as I was aware if for example you held 3 years no claims then an incident occurred which is your fault the protected no claims is in place so that at the end of the renewal you will have 4 years no claims (assuming you wont have any more incidents) but obviously the claim will have to be noted for future reference.
I was also aware that if you have protected claims protection that you essentially get 3 strikes, if you’re at fault this will be 2 strikes and if not at fault will be 1 strike.
Hopefully somebody can shine some more light on this, trying to help a mate who has been told something then something else. Was told the above, that he would have 4 years NCB at the end of the policy and protection is still in place if no more incidents occur but now he has been told it will only be 3 years ncb and that the protection has been removed.
