I am going to get a sound system for my ps3 and 360.

Been looking at a few and its a bit of a minefield, this is not my area of expertise, far from it.

So I was looking at these as i want to spend around £200-250.

anyone got any experience of them please?

I kind of like the look of the creative, the features of the JVC and the speakers of the sony.

They all have optical and HDMI in and out so i am going to connect the ps3 via hdmi (well not the creative as it doesn't have hdmi so will be hdmi to tv and optical to unit) and then the 360 via compnent and optical.

Anything else out there I should be looking at please?

if i was honest no to them all you will most prob find you will regret it within a few months only one way to go thats seperate amp and speakers

Yamaha and Onkyo do a 5.1 Package that is based round a Standalone AV amp

I think the Yamaha one is AV59 or something like that.

As McBunny has said I personally think you might be dissapointed with that

i have no audio equipment in the house, i never listen to music etc, this is my first purchase and its pretty much only for bluray and gaming.

the JVC has got really goos writeups on avforums for the price. I only have a tiny bedroom so don't want to purchase anything big and expensive until i get a proper house as living in a flat at the moment.

well i got the sony, set it up and its amazing, great value for the money!

it even has an auto setup on the speakers which works great, all set up and wrking in under an hour.

well chuffed and games and movies now sound amazing!

I reckon its as good as when i went from and SD tv to a HD tv!

Yamaha amps are very good.

Currently running an old 650 (can't remember the letters) with 5x 150watt RMS speakers (4 floorstanders and a centre that's as big as a floorstander on it's side).

LOUD.

I'm a bit late, but I'd like to recommend this, it's top draw and looks the part.

RRP - £240ish.

Or second choice:

it was between the jvc and the sony in the end and i went for the sony as i could get it for £200 and it matches all my other equipment which is sony and got great reviews over on the avforums.

I think I made the right decision, its a lot of quality for the price, really is a slick product and i am well impressed.

Just need to get a few more cables now and need an optical to coaxial converter so I can plug my PS3, 360 and soon to be next week BTVision into the unit at once.

Gears of war is great and the lobby scene from the Matrix in HD-DVD, WOW!
