There's loads of scaring on message boards but no one knows what it is exactly.
Whether it's the system or PSN, hope they can fix it or i'll go down the shops and buy a slimline.

Read the threads, it's to do with the leap year date change into march.
We can land on the moon, make the iphone, clone sheep and build a veyron but the guys at sony can't input possible date change issues into a games console. Quite sad really, no wonder samsung make all there technology...

Lol, loving peoples lack of ability to read here. PSN is, in effect, offline. Tomorrow everything will be fine again and SCE will likely patch it. This has happened to other electronic devices in the past, it will happen to others in the future too.
Hopefully it comes back at 12:01, got an urge to play BF1943.

It seems like everything will remain (except unsync'd trophies possibly). Nobody seems to know if the problem will end on the actual date or when the bugged date changes. I'm so ashamed, my life has come to sitting around waiting for my PS3 to un-fubar itself

Jay, what do you think SCE is doing? sitting around laughing at all their frustrated customers?
This is the first problem with my PS3 that i've had that comes from SCE itself. Pretty good going IMO.

Yeah, unless you have a slim! Also possibly some very late build PS3s avoid the problem too, but not certain.
