QR Barcodes

So I have to sort out a project for this year at college.

Got an idea, organising parameters for instruments at work and putting them in QR 2D Barcodes.

Also wanting to put a URL to a website i'll design at the top where other things like manuals will be accessible when within network coverage.

I've worked out I can have about 1000 characters in a QR barcode thats readable by the free mobile scanner apps, but wanting to know if theres any decent barcode generation software.

The format i want the scanned text to be in is:

Instrument Name and ID

URL to online documents

2 column, 100 row table with parameters in

Is it possible to put tables in there? And a mix of text and hyperlinked URL?

Any advice, hints and tips appreciated :)

Would like to know this as well for work. Could get some extra brownie points as I like creating new things.

You mean something like this:
img.php?s=8&d=Instrument%20Name%20and%20ID%20http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cliosport.png

Though it seems to have stripped the tabs out between the two columns.

Code:
Instrument Name and ID

If I use Barcode Scanner from the android marketplace that displays with a clickable URL. I think that most QR code readers will auto-parse URL's as actual links anyway, so you can jusst have it as a text barcode instead of a specific type.

That's just generated from http://qrcode.kaywa.com/
