Quality service

Ive just got back from having a few things done to my car at Sutton Park Renault near Birmingham. Tihs is the second time Ive used them and the service was fine. I even got offered a coffee while I waited.

The oil and filter change wasnt cheap, but I think it was worth getting it done, shes running much smoother now.

The main reason I took it in was a knocking from the front when cornering fixed. They had the car for 2 and a half hours. Its all sorted now though. It required the suspension modification which someone posted a while back for Clios 172/Cups from September 2002 onwards. They explained roughly what they had done too. Im not sure if the change should make the car feel better or if its just my imagination, but the front end seems to be riding the bumps much better and not pulling around so much under hard acceleration.

But the best thing is that for the first time since getting the car it drives straight with the wheel pointing straight.

Im happy, even if I did have to get up early to take the car in. Shame my seat rattle has returned.

Lee,

Sorry to say that the noise will return. I was the person who posted last time and I am still having problems. My cup has been in three times now, its had the so called "modification", renault have even had it for whole week to try to sort it. They have now given up and are blaming it on PAS fluid pumping........I am now waiting for an independent inspection to be done.

Renault technicals exact words are "If the noise can also be reproduced turning sharply at approx 10mph on a rough road, then it sounds to me like the fluid pumping in the PAS pipe caused by movement in the front wheels. This could also be described as a suspension rattle.

If you can the noise like this, then that is how they are and there is no solution..........."

When we bought these cars that are meant to be one of the best handling cars about. Did we expect to have to put up with a rattle when cornering????.

I will keep you informed of my progress with Renault.

Cheers Jason,

Ill give it some stick on the way home this evening see if it still does it. There are certain corners I know it always happens on.

I should just be happy it feels a little tighter and the wheel now points straight forward!!

Good luck.
