Question about new paint

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk1
Just had a new front bumper, bonnet which we sprayed at a Ford body repair centre. Just wondering if I need to take extra care of the fresh paint when washing, waxing, polishing etc. Not really clued up on paint. Its black gold and the colour match is very good so just advice on general care for it would be appreciated thanks.

Also, I asked the repair centre to keep my bumper, xenon headlamp (drivers side), and grill. However, the clever people have sent them on for recylcing apparantely but they said they'll get them back for me. Just not sure if its worth the hassle. So... would anyone be interested in them? If so what sort of price? Can send or put pics up if need be. All have minimal damage and are off an '04 182.

always best to ask the bodyshop that did the work but most of them ovenbake the paint so its fine to wax/polish right from the time it leaves the oven.

Yeah should've asked them but was in a rush to get home. As it happens i've got to go back as the bonnet won't open (muppets!). Again I should've checked before leaving. Nevermind.

Will ask if they use ovenbaking then. Cheers for that.

not just ovenbaking part although this does "cure" the paint. Different bodyshops sometimes use different types of paint or brand to brand they can differ a little. If you ask them about aftercare then they should advise as to when they paint will be hard enough or what products to use. As a rule though hand waxing or polishing wont harm it.

bumper might be worth summit. nothing to loose by sticking it on here an ebay. Doubt the others are savagable as lights wount be able to be fixed and bonnet is a realtivley cheap part.
