Quick computer question....

My camera is now having to be plugged in via the USB lead.

(My card reader is kaput) what is the camera now under when i am searching for it? ie C drive, local disc, desktop etc

Can't find it anywhere.

Depends on the camera i think.

Would have thought it should show as a new drive. If not you might need to install the software provided.

I'm assuming Windows. If so it should show as a removable disk/device. I'll go as far as saying it won't be A: C: or D: but it really depends on how many hard drives you have installed and CD/DVD drives.

Are you sure the USB has been registered by the OS when you plugged it in?

Should come up as removable disk, normally get a pop up the first time you plug it in saying new hardware found.

I plugged it in and it said it was installing, then flashed up that it was installed succesfully.

I'm trying to put some pics on photobucket.

Try unplugging, then plug it in again. If not, try another USB port.

I would advise you to try and find the make/model of your camera and try and get the appropriate software/drivers

look for serial numbers on the bottom etc and stick them in google if youre really stuck


Don't know too much about cameras but if that doesn't work you might need to invest in a card reader
