Quick question and an introduction from myself lol.

Hi all,

Pretty new here tbf haven't posted in many topics etc but do read a lot of the threads here in great detail and love all of the project and guides etc,

Im the owner of a 1.2 16V Phase 2 MK2 Clio (I think!)

Lets just say my car had an experience with a hill and a ditch where the car ended up in the ditch, totally my fault but we all mistakes eh! I was very lucky to be able to get the car out with some persuasion (towing) and 3 of us lifting it and getting it home to be looked at in the morning...

You've probably heard the same question 100's of times before and yes i've used the search function :)

Basically when I drive my car and the road surface changes, or there are pot holes / speed bumps etc, I get the most horrible knocking noise ever literally sounds like my car is eating itself (probably over exaggerating this! :p) Sounds like it comes from the passenger side of the car but also "feels" so to speak as if its from the middle of the car, I've took my dad out in the car and he isn't very certain what it may be as he has only ever worked on Painting cars etc and that was a long time ago..

So what im asking is What is causing this knocking sound?

If anyone Local to me is pretty clued up I don't mind letting them hop in and see what it is, otherwise im probably gonna end up at a garage and them telling me that I need everything changed lol :p

If anyone can help me on this, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Many thanks,

James / Lockdownuk

Thanks you! :) Cheers for the suggestions going to my grandads today going to have a proper look at it whilst the weather is nice, as Saturday / Sunday is the only day I can do anything to do the car :[

Ill let you know how I get on, taking it to a garage will be my last resort as most of my family have worked with cars and I seem to pick it up pretty quickly :) Its just finding time to do so :(

Cheers,
James
