Quick question re garmin i3

  BMW 118d
I read somewhere that when you upload the speed camera locations they only work in general mode, not when the unit is actually navigating. Is this true?

thats not true at all the i3 will warn you in all circumstances! if your on a calculated route or even if you just have the i3 showing your general location while driving around known areas etc.

Thanks for that cat171, nice to hear that my info has been interesting. Anyhow here is the answer to the question asked:

That's non-sense mate. If you upload the POI's and Cam locations, Then you get alerted either if you just have it running as 'a Map', OR if you have it 'navigating.'

Think of it this way, I sold my Snooper S4 because I now use the Garmin as a Cam detector. I take it with me everywhere, and just set it to 'Show Map' then you drive about and it will alert you when ever you approach a cam location.

Of course if I don't know where I am going (lol), I set it to 'Navigate' then follow the voice commands. Plus you get alerted when ever you approach a cam locations.

Works BOTH[b/] ways without a doubt.

All the best,

Lee

I think I sent that quoted message to MattsClio yesterday evening. But I am reposting this for others who may have the same question...
