Quick question regarding EPS

Does anybody know if the electric power steering systems fitted to the 1.2/1.4/DCi models has a detached ecu or is it coded to the cars primary ecu ?

E-PAS has it's own ECU.

It just needs a ABS speedo input to know how much assist to give.

Do a search I wrote a guide a while back (years ago) saying what wirres etc on the unit you need and how to wire it with regards using it in a transplant. (Either electric PAS in a 2.0 or a 1.2 with a 2.0 engine fitted.

That's a massive help cheers, the steering on the PH1 is pretty heavy, however I've just learned the aux belt is about to give up as a tentioner is on belt so might not need to convert after all
