R.A.I.D door lock system on mk2 ph1 help!!

Do all mk2 ph1's come with the R.A.I.D system?

How do you activate it?

My mk2 ph2 comes with it. All you do is hold the door lock button in for a few secs till you hear a beep sound. then drive over 6mph or so and the doors will lock automatically for you

^^ thats how I found it, was sat in traffic so thought I'd have a read. and thought f**king hell that sounds cool, now its alway on!! never be too careful.

people always say why do you have that on, well why the f**k not, I dont want people opening my door if I dont want them too, its not exactly a hinderence.

i pressed mine down, the doors lock then unlock and the led for the immobiliser stays on till i start the ignition or 10 seconds and doors lock and unlock again

Have to it when engine is running dont you? sure thats how i turned mine on?

With ignition turned on press the door locking button for 5 seconds and you will hear a beep . When you set off the doors and boot will automatically lock when your speed reaches 4mph ( 6kmh ) and the red light on the button will illuminate .

To deactive R.A.I.D repeat the process ,hold in for 5 seconds with the ignition on .

In the event of a crash the doors will remain locked .

Mine locks when i reach like 4mph then unlocks after about 5 seconds??

Mine locks at 4mph and doesnt unlock till i open the doors, i think this is what is sposed to happen.

Yep , sure about it . Its says in the renault manual that if you have the R.A.I.D set to auto " in the event of an emergency it may be more difficult for those assisting you to gain access to your vehicle " .

Do you hear the doors locking at 4mph and does the red led illuminate ? Then its definitely locked .

yes i hear them, and the button goes red, but then it unlocks automaticly about 4 seconds later?

Sounds like you should get it looked at if your really that bothered . You could always lock in manually with the button .
