Radio can't fit enough deep

Hey there people,
trying to fit my alpine unit with rcas in the console but seems it cannot go all the way. There is a plastic tube behind coming from the back of the console, is this the reason?
Can I remove it?

You'll have to use 90deg rca adaptors
