Random police check

can be points and a hefty fine for every tyre which isnt in a road worthy condition, traffic cops the worse they would rip any one apart with worn tyres mate

And rightly so, no excuse imo. The only point of contact with the road and if they are shagged that is dangerous! Way more so than a lot of speeding offences!
 
Can a garage sell you a car with 2 perrished tyres or would they have to replace them before they sell it?
 
a vehicle from a garage would have to be in a road worthy condition as they have insurance and all that to work along side, how ever you should always check your vehicle over thouroghly befor you leave the forecourt!!

I just checked the tred it was not till i was washing them yest and putting some detail on the tyres i noticed it.

I had my car in at VW the other day and they had a sheet that showed the fines for every tyre, and I'm sure it was a damn sight more than £60.
 
yer the fine per tyre is more like £2000 PER illegal tyre and points for each so cahnces are your loose your licence or have to sell ya motor to be able to pay the fine, well worth forking out for a couple of new wraps!!
KS53MWC - you drove the car away from the forecourt though mate so they could just say youve been abusing the car since you had it mate! your best of taking up the offer of those tyres from whatisjustis bud

Ive never heard of the penalty being any more than £60 and 3 points mate, surely thats what fixed penalty notice means (FIXED):banghead: lol loads of people i know have been done for this and all got 3 points and £60 fine
 
On the side of the tyre will be a manufacture date, so if it was made in jan 09 you will see a date mark with a line round and the numberas 0109

check the date and see when the tyres were made
 
I have a CU30 on my licence as inner part of the tread was worn, 3 Points an £60 fine!
 
i would have said the garage who sold the car would be liable for that well depends how long uve had the car my mate has a fiesta zetec s and ford sold it to him with illegal front tints and ford took the wrap for it not my mate
