Random question about current air box/ induction kits...

Ok been reading previous forums about how people have bought induction kits then put the original air boxes back and noticed the improvement with the original...

So… What would happen if the original air box had a direct air feed from the front like with the Pipecross system?! Would this make much difference? or would you need a remap like with the induction kits to notice any gains?! I'm not bothered about the sound so that isn't an issue. Just a curious question that has never been asked before as far as i can tell.... Either that or i'm talking c**p :rasp:

I've fitted my ITG panel filter on Sat after a group buy on here.. Was a bargain! Mucho happy! Hope there will be more to come lol.

The only question i was pondering over was the need for a remap with a standard airbox but with direct cold air feed....

I wouldn't bother with a remap if your only running a different cold air feed .You'd be better off getting the inlets matched and a decat before splashing out on a remap . But tbh mate i wouldn't expect any difference if you do run a different cold air feed .

The subject on induction is one of those no win answer topics.

Its all down to personal preference.

Some folk say its the way to go uprating the cold air feed on the standard air box, others prefer IK's.

Lol, think ive spent the last 30min reading previous ones! Feel guilty now as im adding to the endless list of threads :rasp:

Think i will purchase some cheap pipeing and give it a test. Failing that will just forget it and spend some hard earned cash on a good night out! Now you cant argue with that!
