Rattle

Let’s say I am doing 30mph in 4th gear. The car sits at around 15 hundred revs.

I get a really annoying rattle sort of noise. Like two pieces of metal scraping together!!

It happens mostly when starting to accelerate from 30 in 4th.

Any ideas?:nono:

I find it a little odd you use 4th for doing 30? Dunno if its just me but I usually use my gears like so

1st - 0 - 20
2nd - 20 - 30
3rd - 30 - 40
4th - 40 - 50
5th - 50+

What engine? change into 5th at that speed and see if it gets worse, could be engine mounts.

nope. i am fairly sure it comes from the engine area

i'll check today. i think it does get worse in 5th. it mostly happens, when i am speeding up... say from 30 to 40

thats the beauty of the 182, mine is happy to sit at 30 in 5th all day long. sure it would be even better with a remap and the increased torque it gives.
