RATTLE!

is it just me, or does everyone else clio rattle like a b**ch over bumps. ive traced the rattles to eather the rear seatbelts, or even the sun roof.

any ideas?????

Yeah my sunroof is an arse, it even shakes when i close the door. There are a few other squeaks and rattles but i just turn the stereo up! But my dad is constantly picking things up which he doesnt like about it when hes in it!

i have a y reg, the sunroof is a pain in the ar#e! get annoying clicking rattle over bumps in the road, been back to renault with it, and it did stop until the next time i opened it!

Sunblind was a prob but now the actual sunroof (glass ect..) is rattling beyond reason over potholes ect. Its fine on tilt.

i got my 1.4 dynamique on last day in November, have noticed when driving around that there is a rattle near driver seatbelt mount and also something rolling around behind dashboard

Yeah my sunroof squeeks over bumps, been thinking bout taking the roof lining off and sorting it but to be honest i dont notice it now unless someone points it out!

mines not that bad actually considering its a j-reg on coilovers

current noises are exhaust heat shield rattling on engine, bit of play in bottom ball joint causing a bit of suspension knock

oh and sunroof makes a funny noise at over 125 which pisses me off

otherwise apart from a few creaks an squeaks its sound

think yourself lucky my one rattles differantly depending on the temperature quite quiet when its scorching and when its cold forget it.

All clios after 51 reg have faulty racks which the sunroof sits on. Take it back, kick up a stink and get them to fit a new rack... Thats what i had to to do with my clio dynamique +, and my 172 mk2. Eventually you will also get a rattle in the drivers door when the window is open. You will need to get that sorted as well. coz it will drive you NUTS!!!!!

Seatbelts seem to be a bit of a recurring problem, I think mine rattle a bit. As does the coin tray above the stereos screen and so does the think in the passanger door (near the lock I think).

I do drive country roads a lot though, which can be bumpy and shake things loose.

PS my sunroof is fine, but old one on 02 clio rattled badly, but I notice I have a different design of sunroof handle in my 52.

Mines only two months old and its had the sun roof replaced as it rattled and creaked, it was terrible!!!, I also had a rattle behind the headlight level panel which was there from day one which was also fixed, and the passenger door card rattled when the stereo was turned up which they traced to a faulty clip! All this in nearly 9 weeks!!!

Do Renault not laugh in your face when you take it in proclaiming "Theres a rattle - fix it please"

Im sure my dealer would think I was mad.

Also, they would probably want me to leave it there for ages and I dont think you get a courtesy car for a rattle.

EVERY SINGLE RATTLE I TAKE MY CAR BACK FOR!!! If the trim rattles or squeaks, or comes off its covered for the first year, after spending 9k on a car I DO NOT expect it to rattle or squeak. Renault HAVE to give you a car if the car will be there for more than three hours, it says this on their website. The dealer doesnt laugh at me as long as you explain where you think the rattle is coming from they will fix it. As for the clip im on about the clips that hold the interior door panel on. Dont take any sh*t from the dealers youve got a three year warranty there, use it!

if they dont give u a coutesy car try saying ur car has other problems which means it will be in longer

say the alarm keeps going of (if u have one)

or the car unlocks itself randomly

or the car doesnt start first time all the time

shouldnt take to long to think of something

i have always been truthful with my dealer but mine goes back with a list of problems

why renault bother with sunroofs with the problems people have with them

they said they couldnt hear a noise from my sunroof when they took it out for a drive. But its not to bad just can get on ur nevres when drining on British roads.
