rattling noise from under the car

Hi all, my lil 1.2 8v has started making a rattling noise recently, a friend had a quick listen a few weeks ago & he reckoned it was the cat thats shot.. last week my car passed its mot with flying colours, no advisorys or any thing:approve: so does that mean i can rule the cat out as the problem?

it may not, as i think it is possible for it to pass emissions test without a cat fitted. not 100% sure on that though.

If thats the case, bye bye cat & hello silence :approve:, what would the bennefits/negatives be of removing the cat?

Remove the cat you get a bit more noiser freeer reving etc, bit of power.

I woulnd' remove the cat though you might not pas MOT without it. So you'd have to keep swopping.
