Raw files!

  Ph1 172 (titanium)
Just been out to take a few snaps of the car. I shot in raw as I knew I would be editing them!
Just uploaded laptop, tried to open the file. And it says cr2. files are not supported.
How do I get round this.
Will not open in normal gallery or photoshop.
Novice at this!
Thanks

Which Canon camera have you got?

The newer .CR2 file extensions only open Adobe Camera Raw 6 and above... As I found out with my 5D MK2.

You'll need Photoshop 4/5 to be able to use ACR 6.

You could always look on the Adobe Support site and see which version of Camera Raw is compatible with your camera.

Other than that, it's the software that comes with the camera :dapprove:

Lightroom opens them up fine and you can do a lot of work straight from there if you can get hold of that.
Otherwise, GIMP or the Canon software that comes with it.

Just down load the camera raw update, I am sure it works for most versions of photoshop not just cs4/5
