Had a job interview in Grantham today, on the way back the GF and I stopped off at Dixons Renault Lincoln to have a look see at the only close match they have to the R27, which is a 197 in Black with Recaros.
Wanted to get a feel actually sitting in the car, no test drive as I know the ride should be slightly different from the R27.
Overall impressions so far is that its a good looking car. Internal- the Recaro seats make a massive difference, you feel part of the car as you get in, concern is the part of the seat that surrounds your thigh, constent getting in and out of the car is going to wear that area out!, I'm 6ft 3 and felt that the car accomadated my height. GF did not like the chrome (is it chrome?) banding going from the passenger side surrounding the radio and dials etc, said it looked rather cheap and taky! I can live with that. The rest of the car is fine, not much room for people in the back and i did not have the seat all the way back. Boot is small, 4 bags of light shopping. Indicator and wiper storkes are very short and would take some getting used to. Good looking sterring wheel, unsure if a universal wheel locking unit would fit under and round the unit etc.
External - Difficult to say... its only a 197, the decals on the Blue 230 F1 they have next to it look flippin brill really makes a massive difference. No red brake calipers either, the 17" alloys look the business.
Going back for another look after much talking with the GF, she likes 95% of the car. Watch this space!
p.s unsure on LY for living in the centre of town and being £1,200 extra, its shouting out to be keyed!
