Rear Brake shoes

My rear brake shoes are shot, the cars a 2001 1.2 16v on 58.5k, has anyone else had theirs replaced and if so how much did you pay?

Cheers,

Alex

Mine went 2 days out of warranty (4 years unlimited mileage) on all Clios.

Should take about 20-30 minutes a side if your cleaning them all up.

£14 if you shop round for the shoes.

Unusualy for them to be shot so early only reason to chnaget at that sort of milage is if the rivet failed and your therefore forced to chnage them.

Cost me £47 to get mine done. Got told it's a common problem, another Clio was in for the same thing lol

Yeah thats quite common Sash, the brake linings actually come loose off the shoe itself, they'll start grinding like mad, then eventually they'll come off totally and go round the inside of the drum. One side on mine was above the wheel cylinder.

to get the wheel hub off was a nightmare, absolutely rock solid! ended up undoing the hub nut leaving the wheel on to get enough leverage with a long bar to prise the fooker off! i heard somewhere they tend to do this when someone has been a bit spray happy with the old brake cleaner wether or not this is true i dnt know!

The linings haven't actually come loose, they are just very thin, and there was a squeak coming from that direction too.
