Rear Diamond Emblem Removal

  Full Fat 182
I've just been out to the car after a long shift, still feeling the effects of last night and eager to stick some orange stickers on my emblems. Front came off nice and easy, was clearly just a pull off job. In my slightly non-thinking state of mind I decided I'de get a knife behind the rear Emblem and do the same. So... rear emblem is off, but now logic has set in I'm kind of guessing the rear boot badge isn't meant to just clip off...

Basically I'm wondering whats the right way of going about it and if anyone knows if I can simply buy a used rear badge and clip it in? Maybe it's just me but I can't find what I need just simply about the rear emblem and not the surrounds in the search section.

Yes yes... I know I've been a bit of a tit

Take the boot handle off which the diamond, its plastic welded onto it, then you can cut the plastic with a knife and the diamond will pop out. Its about 3 nuts holding the handle on I think.

Cheers guys.. I've broken the clips though. I put the knife in from the front and popped off the emblem snapping the clips holding it in. I suppose I could glue it back in place.. But I'm not sure it'll sit properly like that.

No probs, went and bought a rear emblem at a Renault garage. £25.25 for my idiocy... ah well. To anyone viewing this thread in future, follow above advice and remove the badge the correct way!

Normally a dab of silicone on the back holds it fine

The badge I ordered from Renault didn't fit... hopefully they've updated their parts diagram. I'd of needed to buy the whole rear badge surround as well, which surprisingly is only about £5 more; so thats £25.25 for the plastic emblem and a fiver more for all the surround. I'll never understand parts departments.

I ended up going with above solution and just popped it back on with some silicone.
