rear ended :(

driving to football training and had to brake suddenly for the car in front who miss judged a stopped car. just as i had stopped for the car in front (only just in time) a chap behind me hit me at what seemed and felt like a fair rate of knots!!

Needless to say the back of the car is a mess and the front after it pushed me into the car in front. Proper gutted just spent loads over the last 12 months keeping it on the road, new shocks, ktec stealth, alternator etc etc.

Anyways pics of my car:

And the poor lads that hit me, I feel sorry for him he was only young and was proper shaken up. Still he has ruined my pride and joy so not all that sorry!

Looks like your back has taken a real beating, looking at how far the boot has gone in on the second photo, I wouldn't be surprised if your boot has creased, which is a common write off I believe? Sorry to hear, good thing you've walked away unharmed though.

yeah am ok, went to hospital earlier for a check up but just minor whiplash. the car in front had minimal damage slightly dented bumper..

He hasn't yet but he was pretty shaken up, saw him in hospital and his arm was hurt from the seatbelt. When I spoke to the insurance company they said they can't see how he could not conisdering the other cars involved were all stationary and if we had plenty of room to stop he is at fault..? I dont know how it will work just that it was a nightmare as another accident happended as people were trying to get past! Still the police came, eventually and cleared it all away and my car got towed.

Sorry to see that mate, annoying when you've taken pride in it only for someone else to ruin it!

Not necessarily, although considering the car has front damage as well it'll most likely be a write off (depending on how bad the damage is to the front).

No idea just said "I looked up and all I could see was your brake lights and then I hit you."!!!

Front not too bad, crumpled bonnet etc, started and drove to the side of the road but couldnt drive it home and everything was hanging down on the back!

"I looked up".

Emm, what was he looking at? Sounds like a phone to me.

So common and its mostly women who do it. Annoys me much.

But wish an application was made to text via speech. Problem solved.

Looks quite an impact, lucky to only have minor whiplash. But gutted for you and your car.

Unlucky that mate, looks very sore, with it being an 02 plate I doubt they will fix it.

Definitely going to have a quarter panel kinked, probably nearside. Plus front will probably be Cat D verging on C.

If you need any advice give me a pm mate. Hope it gets sorted quickly.

What insurance company are you with?

cheers for the comments everyone, spoke to the lads ins comp today and they have admitted liability already and are being really helpful (admiral).

Car is being picked up from the recovery place next week i think and taken to be assesed. I have a courtsey car being delivered tomorrow morning (vauxhall insignia) so least i will be able to get around. They have offer £1200 for the whiplash as i went to the hospital. I need to let them know monday but will prob take it as it will be useful if it is written off to help pay for something else!

Oh and gally i am with Direct Line.

Very good insurance company to be with, make sure you get a decent payout write off wise.

Pm me before accepting their write offer.

they have made you an offer for the whiplash already, wow. surely the full extent of ur injuries isnt clear yet. im sure they should wait few months to see if there is any long-term damage. you could wake up 2mra and be paralyzed (not likely) and yet only recieve £1200 because you accepted.

Never accept that 1200 mate, the quicker they settle the less chance you have of claiming later like barker said, you might think you're okay but never settle for the first offer either.

Oh Admiral will want to settle with you but speak to your insurance company they will actually be helpful because you are 3rd party and not causing them any money.

Don't accept the whiplash claim yet, well i wouldn't. I was hit like you (not as bad tho) I'm with elephant and they got me a solicitor who sorted everything, sent me for an independent medical expert. He accessed everything including disruption to my daily life. I was completely honest about everything...ie. not in serious pain and only missed a few lectures and I was paid out more than that plus medical costs on top!

Ask you insurance company for legal advise, it will be included for free in your policy, they will put you to their solicitors. This is all from my recent experience anyway.

If you want more specific info PM me, it will only be my opinion and pay out etc... from my recent experience, but it may help!

thanks for the comments regarding the whiplash, i would pursue it further but i could really use the 1200 to help the new car fund. only positive thing to come out of this is i may now get a cup :)
