Rear shock, what is it ?

I have a 'Gas Tech' shock at the rear of my 172. Is this a normal shock for the 172 or just a replacement upgrad kinda thing by the former owner?

Nope Renault rears are made by KYB iirc. Never heard of gas tech though.

Probably a cheap euro carparts/gsf cheapie.

A quick google of gas tech shock absorbers brings up brand new units for ford sierras for £15.

I was hoping it could be an upgrade. Doesnt sound good then......

I don't have problems yet least I know it's not standard.
