Rear speaker rattles

I replaced my rear speakers with a set of 5 1/4" JBLs. Im getting a really annoying rattle coming from the area around the speaker. Not from the speakers themselves, but from the trim around them - just from the vibration of the car on a bumpy road.

Ive put some sponge to cover the wires and a bit on the back of the magnet just incase it was these that was rattling, but it didnt help.

THis is driving me nuts so any help would be great. BTW its an 03 172.

The rear quarter panel should be the same as my Extreme so...

How securely did you fasten the screws? Is it all nice and tight?

Have you considered using dynamat?

Also...how did you get the speaker out...? I took the panels off slightly to dynamat the rear wheel arch and it looked like a fecking mission!

Theyre screwed in nice and tight. I got the speaker out by taking off the cover and undoing the screws (is there another way?).

I might try putting the FF speakers back in to see if it still rattles........

Mine do this, & I think its the whole rear quarter panel. Theres nothing between it and the other plastic on the b-pillar for starters (near the belt). In fact I can waggle the whole panel at the bottom.

I have found that if i take the cover off and push in just to the right (front of the car) of the speaker then it knocks as if the trim is hitting something behind, but if i try it again with the spaeker removed then theres nothing!

Mine rattles a bit when it is up loud. It is the whole panel, i think it is because where the speaker is mounted, its only on thin plastic which vibrates with the music. Im going to be sound proofing the inside of the rear quarters soon see if it makes much difference.
