Out of interest how much should you be looking at paying to have a 16v engine fully rebuilt?

is ya engine gone m8? on ebay theres a willy wngine for few hundred quid and it only done 36k ish, but id like to know how much 4 a rebuild 2. mines done 128k

depends on what you define as a rebuild.

The bits, bearings, seals, gaskets, rings etc will be about 3-400 quid unless you use old frosties packets.

You then have any machining to add on top.

Then if you want to improve the bottom end thats gonna cost.

Then you have replacement parts, belts, pump, tensioner etc etc

So its not cheap unless you do it gypo.

Well I had mine completely rebuilt. It had new everything, inc bottom end balanced, lightened, crank, pistons etc, new valves, gasflowed head, kent cams, verniers, new gearbox, group n clutch. And it came to about £2k inc labour and all parts, machining and gasflowing
