I dont know what cars are affected. My brother (buying a new clio) was just telephoned by the dealer saying they are not releasing any cars today because of a recall and when they find out what cars are affected they will let him know.

No news sorry. My brother was supposed to be picking up his new clio today. He is still going to go there at the arranged time to give his insurance certificate and take the car hopefully.

That is 4 people that have got new clios because of me. Will feel like a right idiot if their all having the same problem.

Err, arent you supposed to have given that in earlier in the week to get it taxed? Or are they going to go and Tax it while your there

Perhaps they taxed it via the insurance database and hes taking his documents as proof he is the insured driver.

When I picked up my clio earlier in the week, the dealer taxed it while i was there, even tho I had dropped the cover note in there the week before.

Their taxing it while hes there, they confirmed they would do this. The recall is something to do with the wiper motor he was just told, thats all i know.

Just to be clear, by talking about a "recall" it might suggest that owners need to take their car back to a dealer for an item to be rectified that might affect safety.

What cupsportmad is refering to is something different. A specific number of new Clio have been built in Feb with a problem with the wiper arm. This needs a rectification prior to delivery. That means that deliveries from the Import Centre to the dealers has been stopped for these cars whilst the parts are obtained to rectify the problem.

Sadly this will mean that these customers are likely not to get their car when they thought they would and the delivery could be delayed by about a week.

Yeah, there ya go guys, no biggy!!

... a proper Renault re-call is to issue a red safety recall grounding all 04 Renault Master vans to replace the steering wheels as a matter of urgency! None of that poncy wiper arm stuff! lol
