I love my Maglite 3D. Big and heavy incase you want to pole anyone (just kidding). And bright. When i get more money i wil buy the LED conversion for it.

Think it cost me £30 From John Pollocks.

after breaking down with no torch, ive decided i need a torch.

whats every got?

i would like a 12v torch on a long wire that plugs in the lighter point.

and what if you breakdown with an electrical problem and don't have a 12V supply?!

I have one of these...

.... got it when it was in the halfprice sale a few months back. Batteries last ages and it produces a good light.

this is a good point

Why not get one of those ones that doesnt need batteries.. you just shake it a bit or wind it up.. then when you need it a year later it will still work..

I've got a 3 cell magalite down the side of the drivers seat, it fits perfectly in the seat rails!

Nothing like changing the wheel on my corsa, in the dark using my phone screen light, on the side of a motorway with lorrys thundering past at 60mph.

6 cell maglite for weaponage, but a 2 million candle power homebase special is more practical for lighting up things ;) . It comes with a 12v car plug to use/charge from the car and only costs £15. Failing that they do a 5m candle power one for £20.

Best torch you can buy "apparently"..

I guess from the video you can make your own conclusions.

Was about to recommend a Fenix torch, I've got an L1D that's tiny yet the light it puts out is immense, plus the batter has lasted ages.

I was sceptical about LED torches over a longer distance, was worried it'd be bright close up but naff over any kind of distance, but it's actually really good. Only down side to them is the initial outlay for 'just a torch'. Pissed over my mates million cell maglite :p

i was in a local garden centre weekend and when i got to the till they had a selection of torches on sale 30% off or something.

anyway got a solid metal maglite style torch, takes 4x D batteries, for only £15.

its all metal and very solid, very well made, water proof and has a focusable lens.
