Refitting a rattly engine cover???

I removed my engine cover(182) a while ago coz it was making loads of noise when the engine was being revved. Now I want to refit it but am unsure of what material to use to pad it out so it doesnt make any more noise I was thinking some sort of foam????? Although not sure coz of the engine temp any suggestions?

mine did the same thing so i just got some silicone and built up an area where it was touching and it has solved it and it does'nt melt.
