Reflections

How can I stop trees and generally the outside world from reflecting off very shiny surfaces, such as well maintained Clio Cups?

Depends on the filter size, i.e the size of the front element of the lens....the bigger the more expensive.

For example, I picked up a Hoya Pro 1 Digital 77mm CPL for around £55 last year for my Sigma 10-20mm.

There are pretty cheap and decent Hoya pro filters on ebay, if you get them from a reputable seller.

My 100-300 f/4 lens takes 82mm filters, a CPL for that usually costs well over £60 I think, I got one from ebay for ~£30 ish !

Polarisers are fantastic on many levels. Cars look great without the reflections .. but they darken blue skies, and bring out clouds which are otherwise not seen by the eye ..

I paid about the same for a CPL (Hoya brand) to fit my 50mm f/1.8 (52mm iirc).
