Remote Central Locking

Hi, I have a 1994 Mk1 1.4 RT and as per usual the remote plip is not working. I have a friend who works at renault but even with a 50% discount they want too much to even look at it. So I was wondering if there is anyway to wire in your own plip up to the central locking, in other words replacing what is already there?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I know where the immobiliser wire is so it would be a great if I could wire that in too. Thanks

If the plip isn't working it'll most likely be the IR reciever in the headlining. It usually gets wet and stops working, does your sunroof leak?

It did but I've now fixed that. Anyway of resetting the damn thing?
