Removing gearknob insert

seen a couple of threads on these inserts, but can't see how to get it off!
its a silver one i've got at the moment thats almost completely worn off
im guessing you can't just buy the inserts from renault so im gonna have a go at painting it
is it glued on, or does it have clips or something? don't really wanna snap it off

nope its just a piece of plastic on the top, u need a flat head screwdriver, push it into the flat side of the insert and pivot it out.. literally a 2 second job.

If you want the whole thing off best get a hacksaw!

i dont need a screwdriver on mine, its loose LOL i can pick it out with my finger now.. thats how simple it is..

i can move it slightly, but didnt wanna just pull it out if it was clipped in or anything

yeah it was easy to get out, lol

just sanded it down and am giving it a few coats of primer

gonna try painting it silver tomorrow, and gonna get hold of some of those stickers to go on it
hopefully the laquer will be fine on top of the stickers!

Done my knob insert, my handbrake insert, my door badges, part of my engine cover, two of my four side strips and my front diamond

yeah im sure i'll find something to do!
actually, might go have a look round the car now, lol

spent £20+ in halfords on paint/sandpaper just for a gearknob insert lol

dont feel confident enough to paint the side strips yet, but might get something from the scrappys to practice on!

wouldnt the bullets look a bit weird with black strips?

Painted my gearknob insert silver and put the sticker on that I bought from matt_trev and its quite a good job aswell. The lacquer is holding up fine up to now even though it has only been and about 2 weeks. Although its not a perfect match with the dash inserts.

Yours is looking good aswell matey, get that sticker on and just lacquer over it and job done.
