Removing The Entire Dash

Right managed to get everything else out apart from the main front of the dash!

There seems to be rivits (i think!) holdin it on, how do i remove these?

If its its somethign liek pop rivets you will need to drill the centres out wiht a HSS drill bit, and then putting it back in re-rivet it.

theres only one rivet by the radio app other than that dont drill any thing. four bolts in corners plastic clip in middle torx around steering colume and bonnet pop bracket. anything else pm me. also plastic wiring connectors around the corners with locking clips

LISTEN TO MAXIBOY!!!!

I made the BIG mistake of drilling many pop rivets out from awkward angles! Only to discover there was still summut holding the dash in!

In the end i found out it was a bit black plastic clip at the top in the middle, you just turn it.

The rest is pretty straight forward really.

Listen to maxi boy, I stripped mine out in the same manor... And had the same problems your having. Theres a clip in the middle of the dash its more than likly that wich is still holding the dash in place.

need the whole main dash out to spray up

the two rivets i can see are above the middle vents?!

do i need to take out my HU to get the dash out?

ne 1 got a pic and show me where these other clips/rivets/screws are?

Essex_Lad, youll probably need to get your head unit out.

I think the rivet, if i remember right, is behind the heater controls or there abouts.

Basically, just take your time.

Why not do what i did, and spray the main part of the dash whilst in the car? It mightve taken me 2 hours to mask it up ready, but it turned out great. Have to have quite a good spraying technique though, otherwise itll run easily.

Only reason i decided to take it out after, so was that i could fully remove my old, non-functioning alarm.
