removing the plastic front grille

I know this question has probably been asked many times, but i am desperate to take out the plastic grille on the front of my mk3 clio so that i can spray it silver. I have looked at it with a mate, and found two clips at the top of it which we have removed, but there is still something holding it in behind it.

As you can understand i have only had the car for a while now from new, so i am trying my best not to break anything already!

If anyone could just tell me how to remove that grille it would be most appreciated.

Thanks, Samm :)

easy. get a big hammer & smash the living crap outta it (being careful to avoid the lights & bonnet) then go to renno & buy a new one , spray it silver & presto......job done;)

if its a clio 1 phase 1or 2 there is two twenty torque screws nears the headlights as well as the clips.

if its a clio 1 phase 3 then i think the grill is part of the bumper

if its a clio 2 phase 1 then its clipped in at each end(under the indicators),has two screws near the headlamps and some screws on the slam panel.

if its a clio 2 phase 2 then the grill is part of the bumper

pull the top two pins out (pins not screws), pull forward, stick your hand down the back, then pull to unclip towards the engine!!

Yes thats correct Iain. Ive had my 2002 Cup grille out 2 or 3 times.

The clips are very stiff and its pretty tricky to do, get a mate to help or risk cuts/scratches to your hands.

Word of warning though: The top part of your bumper where your renault badge is, is pretty soft and flexible plastic. To get the grille off you need to be firm but not aggressive or youll break the bumper.

Good luck!!
