Renault phs1 rev counter with omex

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
Could I get it to work with the omex? It has a output on the new loom for the tacho but is the signal through CanBus? I.e would it need coding to run the sagem tacho?

What do you mean by Coding? The Omex has no CANBus so if it requires a CAN input to the dash cluster this isn't going to happen, ever. You need to bear in mind that you need the Renault CAN protocol as well for the dash to understand whats coming into it.

What you may be able to do is pull a dash cluster apart and drive the tach directly from the Omex. There is a rev counter A/M/Offset in there so you should be able to get it reading about right.

Cheers

Yeah i know the omex has no CANBus but i think the renault ecu gives the signal from CANBus.

But if i could pull the dash cluster apart and drive it direct off the omex than that fixes my problem lol. But is that possible?

cheers

on the phase 1 there is a tacho output from the std ecu direct to the dash.. its a sole wire.. :)

pin 70 on the 172 ecu if it makes your tracing any easier

wire runs to pin 4 of the red 15pin connector on the clocks

I have a Omex shift light.

Positive taps off the coil and negative off the fag lighter for feeding. Not sure if this could work similer to yours ??
