Renault warranty and Vipers

  182 Black/Gold FF
Should I remove the Viper before a service or warranty claim, or do Renault not worry about things like that? I do appreciate I would have to refit the original box! Cheers.

renault say that anything that will affect the mechanical operation of your car will void the warranty. So that fits but my renault garage are quite nice and will ignore warranty voiding things if they are not linked. What are you claiming for

Not true.

Renault actually state that if the modification directly causes a part to fail then that part is not covered by warranty.

If you install a Viper, cams, ecu etc and the exhaust falls off then that's not directly caused by the mods and must be replaced under warranty.

nnope not true either exhaust isnt covered by a warranty anyway. Its classed as wear and tear. And any power mods will affect the exhaust anyway.

Really.. I've had 2 172's now and 7 centre sections replaced under warranty between them..

Latest centre section was replaced when the car was 35 month's old and the car was modified.

Not sure where you are getting your info from but it's incorrect.

Dealer(s)... Use about 3 depending on courtesy cars, lifts etc..

Either all 3 dealers are mistaken and I've been lucky on 7 seperate occasions or your dealer is talking crap as is usually the case.

On this occasion its just a service, but I don't want them to see it if it's going to be detrimental to future warranty claims I may have. You think it's better just to remove it temporarily?

Nope..

I have an induction kit fitted when I've had services.. Saves your about £12 a time on the crappy paper filter too.
