Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
For those of you who were involved in my threads last week. An update of my visit this weekend to Renault Woking:
Basically, I was taking my Mk2 172 in to have the dial set looked at, the aircon, and the cold starts. The car
is a French import but has come with the incorrect dials and therefore the trip computer doesnt work. I was going
to try and get them to agree to change the dials for the proper ones, basically they run the VIN number, agreed it was an
import from France, but have told me that what they have tells them that the car shouldnt have come with a trip
computer, and is right as it is. So now I have got to go through the process of battling it out with Renault Customer
serivces in order to try and get this resolved, as I believe they are out of order and trying to fob me off.
The deal with the aircon, the car started to REALLY stink whenever I was switching the aircon on, so Woking Renault looked
at it for me, and the technician came out with the pollen filter and showed me the date on the side of it, the date showed
that it was the orignal filter and that it hadnt been replaced in either of the two services the car has had at Renault
Liverpool. (A bit p*ssed about this needless to say).
The cold starts, I asked them to check the engine software and they said that they couldnt find anything, but the car has
since started working fine, I can now start the car from cold and it just drives off straight away, so I dont know if they
changed or reset anything.
