Replace Headlight Washer Jets

Hi Folks ! ...... one of my washer jets has lost the "ball". Ive bought a replacement unit but how the heck do i replace the fitting ... I see no way of getting into it to take off the old one and replace with the new one. Has anyone had to do this and if so how do i go about it please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

many thanks in advance

Blimey!!! well the garage told me it was an easy job ....... i guess for them it may be ..... i recon as you say the best bet is to take the ball out the new one and put it into the existing one ....... did you have any difficulty ? ..... i recon maybe a bit of superglue around the edges may be worthwhile as a precaution

Cheers for the info Lee M8

I used the blade of a knife out the cuttlery draw, gave it a quick tweak and out it popped, god knows how the hell Renault ever expected them to stay put for long!!

Now I just give them both a quick push when I wash the car to make sure they arent working loose at all.

I believe on Renault time its a 2 hour job.

the complete jet is held on by a large nut which you get on by removing the front bumper.

Well guys i changed the ball so here is hoping it stays in !! I did add a little superglue around the edge just to help it stay in there ....... heres hoping

thanks for the tips guys

My balls are still both present and correct, and theyve been getting a lot of use lately with the bad weather.

well i put the new ball in ..... tested it and a guy passing the front of my car said .... hey !! something just flew from the front of your car !! lol ...... so thats why its now in with superglue lol what a crap piece of equipment lol i recon my jets could kill someone from 50 paces haha

Hopefully the ball will now stay in ..... at least for a few months till i save up for a new one !!

I took the fuse out as mine came off twice and I couldnt be bothered to take it into the garage anymore for that problem!

I managed to squeeze my arm up to the back of the washer via the front wheel arch. Bit tight though.

No one seems to make an alternative yet.

Your washer bottle will split next.
