Replaced all but one sensor

  clio 1.4RT
Hi all.
Ive replaced the following....

plugs
leads
dizzycap and rotor arm
coil
coolent temp sensor
cheaked compression etc all are good.

and still the car will not pull strongly up hill(almost hesitant)

The only thing i have not changed yet is the crank sensor(some call it the tdc sensor).

Can somebody please tell me ...

1, should i try this and replace it?
2, what function does it have
3, the wires it had dissapears into the loom so do i just get the sensor or do i have to hack into the loom?

the car is a mk1 ph3 98 clio 1.4rt.

Please help this is driving me crazy

Consult a workshop. High fuel pressure is fairly dangerous. You connect a mechanical meter to a point it the high pressure side of the fuel system. Timing is a bit easier, find a haynes manual or even better if you can, an autodata timing belts book.
