Replacing brake lines (hoses)

Thinking about upgrading my brake lines to braided. Is this a easy job? Whats involved? Is there a guide available?

Sorry for the questions but I am s**t at playing mechanic ;)

Easy to do yep remove the old pipe put a new one on and bleed the brakes.

Only thing that makes it difficult is if the pipes are corroded or rusted up you might end up replacing all the lines back to the master clyinder/ABS unit.

Cheers edde,

When you remove the old pipe is there a danger of fluid pissing everywhere?

The hoses (hopefully) won't be corroded as the car is only 9 months old.

Thanks again

Yep what you have to do is undo the pipe going into the caliper first and let all the fluid drain out the system realy into a container. Then take the pipe off the lines and swop them. It just will take you a hwile to properly bleed the brakes and you'll loose a load of fluid but to do it properly thats the only choice. You can put a cap on the reservior to help reduce losses and potential issues but its no huge saving you should bleed the brakes fully anyway.
