Result.........sort of

My car is in again today to get some of the things which couldnt be done last week sorted.

That being, creaking steering wheel (new part had to be ordered), knocking from the front right (they did the strut top mod, but that wasnt it) and also the 4 beeps on the alarm and the doors locked light not always coming on.

I got there for just after 8 today and was going to wait with the car, but due holdups with Cobra and the alarm they decided it was best to keep the car all day.

Usually there is a 1 and a half month wait for a courtesy car, but they found me one, and let me take it even though I didnt have my license with me. They do know me quite well in there though. So today I have a nice little silver 1.2 Expression. Nice motor other than the super light steering.

I figured Id best call Tesco and put the car on my policy for the day, and as before I expected a £20 charge. This time, no charge.

I just hope the car comes back later with all its little faults sorted out.

Oh and while I waited this morning they kept giving me updates on what was happening and even supplied me with coffee.

No, but the two girls on the service reception are nice.

The Service Manager at the Telford dealer is a girl - there are more girls working there than blokes I think.

Tesco have never changed me, usually if you say "warrenty work" they view it as a temporary replacement car.

Im the same mate the 4th time today i geta nice red Cli o 1.2 with a digital petrol gage and tempratur, I know what u mean about the steering but itsbetter than walking ;-) The service manager at the reno garage im at is abt 65 - Defo no sleeping partners there .;-)

Lee - when you say your having the 4 beeps on the alarm done, do you mean the 3 beeps that sound if you lock the car to quickly after shutting the doors, or is this something else?

Thats the one. Its a bit random on mine. Plus sometimes the locked door LED on the switch doesnt always light.

It will be interesting to see how they fix that. Im going to book mine in to have that fixed as it is really getting on my nerves now.

Did you tell them about it when you booked the car in or were they already aware of how to fix the problem? From what Ive heard some dealers dont know about the alarm problem.

Basically the car went in Monday of last week for a few things to be done, the alarm was one of them.

They reset it last week and said they have to try that first but doubt it will fix it, so let them know and they would look today when the had it back.

Apparently they were speaking to Cobra via email this morning (hence me leaving the car) about how to resolve it.

I know a few others have had it fixed and Cobra had to sort those out so Im sure theyll get to the bottom of it.

Right, got the car back.

So far the creaking wheel IS fixed.

The alarm hasnt beeped so far.

The knock is still there, so I give up. Ill put up with it until I have a few more things to have fixed.

They cleaned it.

No fit girls at my local reno. Hope they fix it for you but they probably wont knowing typical reno dealers. Theyve got feckin oil on my sunroof seal (the fabric one on the inside) now so I dont know whether to try and get it off myself or make them pay for a new one if I can prove it.

Going in for something with the torque arm, cam seal and engine mount replacement on saturday. I can see the engine falling out or something bust again, knowing typical dealer repair quality
