reverse gear leaver sticking in upward position

Hi all can anyone help when i select reverse buy pulling up reverse button and the try to put into 1st the button sticks in up position cheers kev.

Could be the slider spring on the stick itself, take it all out and have a look.

Undo the exhaust and heat shields from underneath, undo the linkage and then 4 bolts to pull the whole lot out through the bottom.
