Car  172 Rally Car
Im looking at setting my car up next weekend but i am not sure where to start ride height wise.
Any ideas?

What suspension are you using? If it's cup racer stuff you'll be able to go pretty low before you hit any issues, but if it's on normal 1*2 hubs you'll run into roll centre issues pretty fast!

It's standard 172 hubs, I'm not after silly low as I will need travel.

In that case drop it about 25mm from standard ride height, but no more. It will be a good compromise between keeping travel and not getting the roll centres in a mess.
What suspension/coilovers are you running out of interest?

Update to this:

Now i have the front roll center correctors whats going to be the best height for the new hubs?

@NorthloopCup So a 1*2 on standard hubs, what kind of angle should the wishbones sit at? I've had my B14's fitted a while and the chaps that fit them just wound them right down. :o
In a perfect world the wishbones need to be sloping down from the subframe to where they locate in the bottom of the hub, as in centreline of the securing bolt to the centreline of the bottom ball joint pivot. You can run them parallel with the ground though. Is your car as low as it is in your avatar or lower?

Nah, avatar is on 16's and Eibachs.

It's now 15's and B14s.

Going to be fitting new wishbones once the weather clears and want to raise the front up, I haven't even looked to see what angle the arms are currently at!

So driveshafts hitting the subframe is an issue?

This concerns me, although I'd have thought I'd have found it by now driving like a knob with softish standard dampers on what are quite possibly the worst roads in the UK.

I left my ASTs I just purchased at the height they were already adjusted to - it's pretty low. That said, they are pretty damned hard, too.

Chassis legs mate - not subframe. You've got to be very very low at the front though. Mine was doing it one year when I was at the nurburgring.
Whats your Ast spring rates? My kw's that were fitted were 60n, so about 335lbs. Too soft by a country mile for track work.

The roll centre kit is something I desperately want to do.

It's a battle against ITBs and a diff, though :( (primarily the latter).

Yeah, the plan was Gripper.

I'm torn on the CW, as I use the car for Autosolos, too.

My head says stick with the gearing that I know I've been able to make work for me so far, but done right (with a bit more low down torque), I could potentially move my whole run (bar launch) into 2nd gear which would be a huge plus point. I reckon removing the bulk of gear changes has got to be worth at least half a second (over ~60)!

So is it road use and autosolos? Or something else?
Your biggest improvements will come from correct suspension geo and a diff tbh mate.

It has no use on the road, beyond driving to track days until I stump up for a trailer.

I'm looking forward to see how the car fairs with the new suspension in the autosolos - on standard suspension, even with -3 degrees front camber I was still rolling over on the inside wheel. Hopefully the stiffer setup should help that massively.

The diff is the biggest thing, I think - its a big investment, though. Especially if I want a crown wheel.

You will definitely see an improvement from the ast's mate.

Diffs ain't so bad if you know where to go. ;)
