Ripping out the seats

Hi all

Anyone completely removed the rear seat backs from a Mk2 172?

The bases are simple enough, just pull out and the rear seat backs have clips at each end to unhook, but there is something in the middle holding them in.

Seems that it would come out if that black plastic thing in the boot was removed, but how does that come out?

Any thoughts?

Yank it off mate! Was chatting to Yogi the other week and he has grounded his amp under here. He said it is a bit of a b1tch to remove but you have to just pull it off.
